DotNetCore has decided to halt programming on this site while we reevaluate.
The Idea for this site seemed to be lost and the principles and values that
DotNetCore hold were not being adhered to and conveyed correctly.
So we are going to do things
properly and a
great way to
start the
new year. First off our values and the purpose of this site will be clearly
defined and displayed. A
new site, with a new layout will be created and
compatible with all major browsers. Next an overall
features list
will be created with a complete
roadmap that will be closely followed.
Then the design will begin and each section programmed with the DotNetCore
values as its basis.
In the meantime please feel free to add content, all will be transferred over to
the new site once completed. Also our
DeveloperCenter is still in the
works and will be completed sometime Q1 2008.

DotNetCore has been busy with its bluetooth section recently and it took far
longer than expected due to repeated steep learning curves when developing our
WidComm Desktop and Mobile prototypes. However these are now complete and we
will be developing new stable versions of these early next year. />
In the meantime we are now putting more focus back into the site features and you will notice a new look
starting to spread throughout the site. Our
Roadmap is now up and you can see some of the features we will
be developing into the future. Content from other users is now starting to appear on the site, we hope this site
keeps expanding to providing you more useful and helpful tools and information.

Another quick update on the progress. Some more sections have been released and content for them is growing. These sections are Silverlight and ASP.NET.
A new utility for creating a GUID in various formats has been created. As usual more ideas are being created for this site than we can code and we are
working very hard to integrate features as fast as possible.
Updates to the front page are coming soon to provide a better overview of the site and more on recent additions. We will share our roadmap to the public soon,
which will give you a more accurate picture of things to come. Ofcourse some of features will be kept a secret until nearer their launch dates.
Enjoy your weekend.

Just an update on the latest progress. The questions section has been enhanced to now allow acceptance of an answer. The bookmarks section is going
under big improvements that will be coming shortly. Also as you will notice on the main page, user contributions to the site are now tracked.
04/10/2007
Just released on DotNetCore are sections that group together related content for
an easier experience getting the information you need. The
bluetooth section is the first one to be launched but many others are coming.

Core components of Phase 1 are now complete. These included, bookmarks, solutions, tutorials, code snippets and questions.
The next part of Phase 1 is enhancing these components, more testing, security enhancements and most importantly asthetics :)
This will also include the Development Center mentioned before. The development
center will be a central point for developers giving them all functionality
online they
need in one convienent location.

The ability for members to submit their own tutorials is now up and functioning. More features will be added to this over the coming month. Also check out
Make money with tutorials. This is a feature we hope to be implementing as soon as we have
the required site traffic.
As of today the DotNetCore community has started.

Hi everyone. Dot Net Core's traffic is continuing to grow and I have been amazed at certain statistics
as they become available. A few weeks ago I started counting page views and file downloads.
I will soon add these numbers to the tutorials and downloads. But what I was amazed at was the amount of downloads. In
one week over 50 downloads of the Microsoft.WindowsMobile.zip (my Bluetooth dll for Windows XP). I hope this site is
really starting to help people.
As you may have noticed the second alpha of my Side Navigation is running on the tutorial pages. This should hopefully
become a valued navigational bar. The links on this navigation bar will become available soon. I have been working on the
user submitted tutorials. This will be the start of DotNetCore becoming a valued user community.
A development center will be coming very soon. What is this?, I won't tell you for now, but it is going to be
nothing short of brilliant. This is where value from this site will really start.

As promised new tutorials, usercontrols and user accounts were added a few weeks
ago. So what are we up to now? Online media is a huge section online and will
continue to grow. So we decided it would be good to focus some efforts in that
domain. The site MediaStreamed has been created and the basic functionality is
all uploaded and functioning. Please take a look and send back any feedback.
Remember it is a beta and polishing will be done before it goes into a final
version.
Also if any one has some free time, Dot Net Core is in need of some volunteers
to create code, tutorials, ideas and manage these. Currently in the works is the ability for
users to create tutorials. This should hopefully be up and functioning next month.
Dot Net Core is going to be the platform of many amazing and extraordinary
applications and ideas into the future. We have some brilliant work and ideas in
progress and will be releasing hopefully early next year.

I would like to thank everyone that has visited this site recently. DotNetCore
has had quite a bit of traffic in its starting stages.
There has been much code writing going on in the past week including user
accounts and logons, comment sections and search capabilities. These will be
coming soon (within 1 - 2 weeks) along with more tutorials on bluetooth and
silverlight as well as a few free controls for everyone to try out.
Thank you for your support.
Welcome!
This site, while in its infancy shall soon grow in to a collection of free .net
utilities and information for the .NET community. Some will be created by Dot
Net Core while others will be extensions on existing open source applications.
My aim here is to add back into the community since I have received so much from
it.
I believe the reason .NET is so great is not because it is a great language to
work with, but because of its extensive community.
